  1. What is the different betwixt Optical and three.5mm input and which is improve?
I didn't use Optical input earlier so i am non sure about it.
  2. I personaly always use the normal 3.5mm jack, the sound quality when you lot use an optical cable is from what I know not much better.

The main divergence between an optical and the three.5mm jack is that with optical yous send the signals digital and with the 3.5mm jack the betoken is being sended the (old) analog mode.

    Greetings, Robin

  3. The standard iii.5mm jack that y'all've seen forever sends a converted analog signal, and the Optical port sends a raw digital point.
  4. 3.5mm : Standard stereo input and output. generally headphones, 2(.1)ch speakers or mic
optical : toslink. actual name is Southward/PDIF. upward to 5.1ch compressed audio support. mostly used in TV, A/V and game console.
  5. So which is the best to utilize three.5mm or Optical input?
  6. sorry to infringe your thread, what about USB or HDMI sound output?
  7. 3.5mm is an analog betoken
    optical is a digital signal.

    Optical Pros: Digital (less interference)
    iii.5mm Pros: Cheaper, More common

  8. If I have the choice I use Optical over iii.5mm
  9. TLDR: Utilize Optical unless you got a expensive highend soundcard (or a very expensive mainboard with a very practiced soundchip) When in doubt, test which sounds better.

Digital audio from your PC needs to be converted to a analog indicate by a DAC (digital-to-analog converter) in club for your speakers to produce sound.

If y'all use the 3.5mm on your PC your soundchip/soundcard
converts the betoken in your PC and sends it analog over the cable.
With the optical, the digital signal is sent over the cablevision to your audio device and your device converts it itself.

At present it's a question of whether your PC converts digital to analog better than your audio device.
There tin can be interference in your PC from many different things which will affect the signal it produces and the analog three.5mm cable can also pick upwards interference from various things.

Optical is probably the way to go almost of the time since you can avoid interference from both your PC and the cable. Too if your audio device can utilize optical information technology probably has a decent DAC in it since they hopefully wouldn't use a shitty one just to offer an optical input.

Highend soundcards will do a improve task at converting than the normal mainboard soundchips and about audio devices though so iii.5mm is better in that location.

When in doubt though, examination which one sounds betters :)

USB/HDMI: Both digital: If your device uses USB to accuse itself that may cause interference. HDMI won't charge and then no charging interference merely running out of battery eventually ;)

  10. expert stuff! thanks! The Kraken 7.1 Blush uses USB... haha.
